Breezy but buoyant: 2026 season kicks off at Wings RC

Welcome to the Soaring League of North Texas

One of the oldest RC soaring clubs in North America, SLNT is based in the DFW Metroplex. We are an AMA chartered club (#1957) flying monthly contests in two competitive soaring formats: F5J electric launch and F5L light electric soaring. Whether you are a seasoned competition pilot or brand new to soaring, all experience levels are welcome. Annual dues are just $20. Ask about our "On-Wing" mentoring program for new pilots!

We fly at our home field in Denton at the North Texas Thermal Park (RC Airfield & Wildflower Trail, 804 W Windsor Dr, Denton, TX 76207) and partner with clubs across the metroplex to host contests at multiple locations. Our partner clubs include Golden Triangle RC in Grand Prairie and Wings RC in Roanoke.

Every contest counts toward our season-long Top Gun standings, where pilots accumulate points across all formats to determine the best all-around soaring pilot in North Texas.
